I never dreamed of being an entrepreneur. I loved the comfort of a steady paycheck, which led me to start working at the age of 13 and kept climbing. But over time, working for others started to make me feel stuck. I was limited in value, in my voice, and in how much I could earn.
By 2009, I was deep in healthcare administration, but the burnout, politics, and poor patient care made me say, “There has to be more than this.” I didn’t know how to start a business, but I did it anyway. I earned two master’s degrees, bought equipment I barely used, booked consultations I was too nervous to sell, and built websites hoping they would solve everything and make selling easier. They didn’t.
I had no clear audience, no defined market, no systems, and deep down, I didn’t believe people would pay more than $1K for invitations; it was just paper. So I undercharged, overworked, and stayed stuck in the same place for years.
It all shifted in 2019 when I watched someone sell exactly what I sold, for $10K (yep, the same thing). That was the wake-up call. I didn’t need more tools; I needed a better way of thinking, planning, and selling in my business.
