In this episode, Nikisha discusses the concept of manuals and how they can harm our relationships with others.

Manuals are essentially a set of rules or expectations that we have for how others should behave or act. Nikisha explains how she has set up manuals for people in her life and expects everyone to operate the same way she does.

However, Nikisha also recognizes that when we enforce manuals on others, we take away their capability, joy, and individuality. This can be especially harmful in relationships with children, partners, or friends. Instead of allowing others to be themselves, we impose our beliefs and expectations on them, leading to resentment, withdrawal, and a lack of presence.

Nikisha shares personal experiences of how enforcing manuals on her partner, John, caused him to withdraw and become less available to help her. She realized that letting go of her manuals and allowing John to be himself improved their relationship, and he became more supportive and present.

Overall, this episode highlights the importance of letting go of our manuals and embracing the individuality of others. Doing so can improve our relationships and create a more fulfilling life.
